Leather Driver Gloves Manufacturer
We make leather driver gloves in cowhide grain and goatskin grain, plus split-back versions for value ranges. Close fitting, comfortable all day, and made in Sialkot, Pakistan for distributors, brands and importers.

What Makes a Good Driver Glove
Funny thing, a driver glove isn’t really about driving anymore. It’s the glove for jobs that need some protection and a lot of feel. Loading, warehouse picking, light assembly, landscaping, and yes, driving forklifts and trucks. Simple pattern, soft leather, a snug fit, nothing bulky.
Driver gloves are usually made from grain leather, the outer layer of the hide. It’s smoother and more supple than split leather, so the glove feels better in the hand and looks better on a shelf. The two leathers we use most are cowhide and goatskin, and they really do feel different.
If you’re stocking driver gloves or putting your own name on them, here’s what we make and how to choose between the options.

Our Leather Driver Gloves
Four builds that cover most driver glove ranges.

Cowhide grain driver gloves
The all-rounder. Cowhide grain is a bit thicker and very hard-wearing, so it lasts on rougher jobs and still feels smooth.

Goatskin grain driver gloves
Softer and more flexible, with excellent feel. Goatskin is naturally supple and surprisingly tough for how thin it is.
Straight thumb driver gloves
Our goatskin driver glove also comes in a straight thumb pattern. Some markets prefer it, so it is worth offering both.

Grain palm, split back
Cowhide grain on the palm, split leather on the back. It keeps the feel where it matters and brings the price down for value ranges.
Cowhide vs Goatskin Driver Gloves
Both are good. They just suit different buyers.
| Cowhide grain | Goatskin grain | |
|---|---|---|
| Feel | Smooth, a little firmer | Very soft and flexible |
| Durability | Excellent on rougher work | Good, and tough for its thickness |
| Breaking in | Needs a little wear | Comfortable almost straight away |
| Best for | Loading, landscaping, general handling | Driving, picking, light assembly, retail ranges |
Need something tougher and cheaper for heavy handling? Our split leather work gloves are built for that.
Grain Leather vs Split Leather Driver Gloves
Driver gloves are almost always made from grain leather, the smooth outer layer of the hide. It’s tighter and more supple than split leather, so the glove follows the shape of the hand and keeps good feel at the fingertips. It also shrugs off light moisture better and looks smarter, which matters if the gloves are sold in retail.
Split leather still has a place. On our grain palm, split back driver glove, the grain sits where the hand grips and the split leather covers the back. You keep most of the feel and bring the price down, which is handy for value ranges. For heavy handling, though, a proper split leather rigger glove is the tougher option.
Cowhide Driver Gloves: Tough and Smooth
Cowhide is the workhorse leather. It’s a little thicker than goatskin, very hard-wearing, and it keeps its shape well after weeks of use. Cowhide driver gloves suit loading, landscaping, farm work and general handling, where the glove gets dragged across rough surfaces all day.
They take a few days to break in. After that, most people find them really comfortable, and they tend to outlast softer leathers on rough jobs.
Goatskin Driver Gloves: Soft With Great Feel
Goatskin feels different the moment you put it on. It’s soft and flexible straight away, and it’s surprisingly strong for how thin it is. Goatskin naturally contains lanolin, which helps it stay supple. That makes goatskin driver gloves a favourite for driving, warehouse picking, light assembly and any job where the wearer handles small parts.
It’s also a nice premium option for retail ranges. Customers pick up a goatskin glove, feel the leather, and the glove more or less sells itself.
Thumb Patterns and Fit
Fit makes or breaks a driver glove. It should be snug without pinching, with no loose leather at the fingertips. Our goatskin driver glove comes in our regular pattern and in a straight thumb pattern. Some markets simply prefer one over the other, so it’s worth offering both if your customers vary.
When you plan sizes, think about who wears them. Driver gloves are popular with both men and women, so a range that covers smaller sizes as well as large ones usually sells better. Tell us your size range when you ask for a quote.
Where Leather Driver Gloves Work Best
Driving, obviously, but also logistics and delivery, warehouse picking, loading docks, landscaping, gardening, farm work and light assembly. Anywhere the hands need some protection and a lot of feel.
Where they don’t belong: welding, hot work and jobs with sharp blades. Driver gloves aren’t built for heat or cuts. For welding, use proper welding gloves, and for heat use dedicated heat resistant gloves.
Caring for Leather Driver Gloves
A little care goes a long way, and it’s worth passing these tips on to your customers. Let wet gloves dry naturally at room temperature, never on a heater, or the leather goes hard and cracks. Brush off dirt rather than scrubbing. Now and then, a small amount of leather conditioner keeps grain leather soft. Treated like that, a good pair of driver gloves lasts a long time.
Building a Driver Glove Range
A simple way to plan a range is good, better, best. The grain palm, split back glove covers the value end. Cowhide grain sits in the middle as the hard-wearing all-rounder. Goatskin grain makes the premium option, with the softest feel. Add your logo, your colours and retail packaging, and you have a tidy range that covers most customers. You can see our wider leather work gloves range for more ideas.
Driver Gloves for Logistics and Delivery Teams
Delivery drivers and warehouse teams go through gloves fast, and they’re picky about comfort, because they wear them for the whole shift. For these buyers a good driver glove needs to be easy to pull on and off, soft enough to scan and handle small parcels, and tough enough to grab a pallet strap. Goatskin is usually the favourite here, with cowhide for the heavier loading jobs. Ordering both in one shipment is common.
Colours, Logos and Retail Packaging
Driver gloves are one of the most giftable, retail-friendly work gloves there is, so presentation really matters. Natural tan and grey leather are the classics, but other colours are possible for a brand that wants to stand out. A small logo on the cuff or back, a printed header card and a clean polybag make the glove look ready for a shelf. Tell us how you sell, trade counter, online or retail, and we will suggest packaging that fits.
Driver Gloves vs Assembly Gloves
These two get mixed up a lot, and they are close cousins. A driver glove is all leather, with grain on the palm and usually on the back as well. An assembly glove keeps a leather palm but swaps the back for a knitted interlock fabric, so it breathes more and feels lighter. That makes assembly gloves popular for light assembly lines and hot warehouses, while driver gloves handle a little more wear and look smarter. We make both, in goatskin and cowhide, so you can see our assembly styles alongside the rest of our leather work gloves. If you are not sure which suits your customers, ask for a sample of each. The difference is obvious within a minute of wearing them, and it usually settles the question straight away.

Why Buyers Choose Our Driver Gloves
Driver gloves are judged in the hand. Buyers pick them up, feel the leather, check the stitching, and decide in about ten seconds. So we’re careful with the leather. Ours comes from Leather Working Group gold members, and we’ve been working with it for over 20 years.
Our plant is ISO certified, has passed inspections by leading brands, and can make up to 100,000 pieces a month across the range, so repeat orders stay consistent.

Leather Driver Gloves FAQ
What are driver gloves used for?
Driving, loading, warehouse picking, light assembly and landscaping. Any job that needs a bit of protection without losing feel.
Cowhide or goatskin, which should I choose?
Cowhide grain is firmer and very hard-wearing. Goatskin grain is softer and more flexible. Many distributors stock both and let the customer decide.
Can driver gloves be used for welding?
Not really. They are not built for heat and spatter. For welding, use proper welding gloves.
Can you add our logo and packaging?
Yes. Logo, colours, sizes and retail packaging can all be made to your spec.
Are leather driver gloves lined?
Most driver gloves are unlined so they keep good feel. If you need a lined version for colder weather, tell us and we will look at the options.
Do leather driver gloves stretch?
Grain leather moulds to the hand a little with wear, which is part of why a good driver glove gets more comfortable over time. That is why a snug fit at the start is best.
Can I get samples before a bulk order?
Yes. We make a quick prototype from stock materials first, then a final sample in the right quality, colour and pattern for your approval.

Yes. Saxum Group is 100% export-oriented and ships to buyers abroad as a normal part of our work.
